The Night of the Living Dummy Book
|
A teenager teams up with the daughter of young adult horror author R. L. Stine after the writer's imaginary demons are set free on the town of Madison, Delaware. This is the book “The Night of the Living Dummy†used in the 2015 film Goosebumps, based on the children's book series of the same name by R.L. Stine. You first hear about this particular book when we learn that R. L. Stine (Jack Black) created the stories as a child to terrorize the people that made fun of him. We then learn that making the stories with his magical typewriter brought the viscous and uncontrollable monsters to life, so he had to trap them inside their manuscripts using metal locks. Returning to the house, they find Slappy from The Night of the Living Dummy, angry from being imprisoned and burns his own manuscript. This book has the metal lock that kept the creatures locked inside the manuscript along with the title of the book on the cover and originally obtained from a contest held by the film studio.
