Miniature Predator Bio-Helmet

This is a miniature Predator bio-helmet used in the 2004 film Aliens vs. Predator also known as AvP. The film adapts the Alien vs. Predator crossover imprint bringing together the eponymous creatures of the Alien and Predator series, a concept which originated in a 1989 comic book. This mask was used near the finale of the film when the Predator and Alexa Woods (Sanaa Lathan) form an alliance and use the Predatorâ€™s self-destruct device to destroy the pyramid and the remaining Aliens. In the film they used the tunnel lift to escape and to achieve the look without using real actors, the scene was filmed using miniature puppets. There were multiple masks made as they would fall off the puppet and this particular mask has slight wear to the bottom right corner providing evidence of use.
