V Mask

A V Mask worn in James McTeigue's 2005 political thriller, V for Vendetta. In the film, a masked vigilante known as 'V' enlists the help of a young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman) in overthrowing a tyrannical futuristic British government. Masks of this style can be seen worn by the crowds in London who gather in support of V on Guy Fawkes Day, 5 November. The mask is made from sturdy plastic and has been lined with foam pads at the forehead and cheeks to allow comfort for the actors. Threaded through the sides of the mask is an elastic band, which was worn behind the head, securing the mask in place.
