Original Playboy Bunny Costume
Magic City was home to the first satellite location of the original Playboy Club, opening in 1961, just a year after the Chicago establishment debuted. The venue, located at 77th Street and Biscayne Boulevard, promised South Florida men all the benefits of its northern counterpart: drinks, dining, live entertainment, and, most important, loads of women parading around in bunny ears and tails. This is an original Playboy Bunny costume worn at The Playboy Club of Miami in the early 1970s. The costume consists of a multi-dot strapless boned bodysuit, inscribed to the interior "Terry M."; a fluffy white tail that hooks to the back of the costume; white cotton collar and cuffs; a clip-on bow tie; a pair of Playboy Bunny cufflinks in a branded jewelry box; a pair of bunny ears attached to a headband; a Playboy lighter; a red rosette that reads "Terri M."; and an additional white cuff signed by Lee Majors that reads "Terri/ a beauty/ $6,000,000 Man." The costume has been mounted on a custom themed poker table display as it would be seen back in the 70s inside the club. All the items originate from Playboy Clubs, even the two membership keys that would be used to identify the clubs members. Also include with the costume is two original Polaroid photographs in their original orange Playboy envelopes, an original letter from Playboy Clubs International Inc. signed by Toni Lemay, along with an original letter from Playboy to Terri with original envelope signed by Gary Cole conveying a $50 bonus for Best Bunnies of 1975.
