Harry the Hook Stop Motion-Puppet and Eels
A Harry the Hook stop-motion puppet with eels from The Pirates! Band of Misfits. Harry the Hook can be seen in the audience of the Pirate of the Year Awards as he joins in with the festivities, but makes a more significant appearance in “The Pirates!” mini-movie, “So You Want To Be A Pirate!” where he is struck down with “Lubbermatosis”; a disorder that robs pirates of the ability to cry “Yarr!” Poor Harry is put through a series of intense remedies, including rolling on a pile of electric eels and being sat on by the burly Pirate King, leaving him with a bandaged arm and black eye! His clothing is foam latex, with silicone skin on his hands and grubby feet. His head, hair and polka-dot bandana are resin with plasticine around his eyes for maximum expression. Harry features an interchangeable mouthpiece made from “Rapid Prototyped” resin, with the reference “HTH 20 05” marked inside his head. His entire body has been built around an intricate steel skeleton allowing for him to be posed and animated. This puppet is a fantastic example of the tremendous detail that has gone into creating each character within this great stop-motion picture, and is accompanied by five electric eels, all made in silicone with a metal armature within, from “So You Want To Be A Pirate!”.
